Importing and Exporting Goods

Every stage of Importing and Exporting is met with a host of rules, regulations and red tape and ignorance is no defense.    Though this practice has been pursued through the ages, it only becomes more complicated and any Importing/Exporting company is advised to have a legal department or access to one.  As methods of transportation increase in speed and variety, more complications become apparent.

The introduction of pests and parasites is a major topic of concern, and one that was taken seriously only after major damage was done.  Food handling is another area of concern and it’s a matter of buyer beware – labeling laws are not as strictly enforced in other countries and you might be surprised to find out how a product has been treated and what is in it!
